Official Opening

Although the doors to my gallery opened last December, I am pleased to say that an official opening event took place on 3rd June.  I invited many people from the local community, as well as business contacts and friends.  I was taken aback by the numbers who attended.

Thanks to Keith Tordoff, MBE who advised me in the organisation of the event, it was a great success.

The catering was carried out by “Just Delicious”, a local business in Pateley Bridge.  A tasty selection of sweet and savoury canapes was provided.

Prof. David Hill, CBE DL from the Lord Lieutenancy’s Office in York opened the gallery and gave an interesting and important speech on the need to care for the environment.  He recognised the statement I make with my environmental form of art.

I thanked Prof. Hill and was pleased to give him a framed print of a Yorkshire Dales barn.

Later he wrote a comment and signed my visitors’ book.

Amongst the guests present was a representative from the Tree Council (London).  Katie was also collecting a commission to take back for The Tree Council for their exhibition in Birmingham.  Present with her father, Katie also enjoyed looking at the range of artwork, including coasters and greetings cards available for purchase in the gallery.

Also there was Heather from Coco Joe’s in Pateley Bridge and Peter and Michelle from Fishpond Wood in Bewerley.

Members of Ripon City Photographic Society are shown here discussing their photography.  They are currently exhibiting their work in the lower part of the gallery until 30 July.

The collages and photography clearly appealed to guests of all ages.

Adam Walsh from Hull made a special trip to be present at the opening as he is interested in a future commission.

The event was photographed by Gerard Binks and the Ripon City Photographic Society.  It was filmed by Chris Bradburn of Bradburn Films, assisted by James Shepherd.

There was a friendly atmosphere with plenty to talk about!

I was delighted it all went so well and wish also to thank the following for their support:

Fiona Hunt and Tony Georgiou of Aitchco (my social media and marketing advisors)

Oliver Wright (my business coach)

Paul Howell (my website designer)

My friends and family
