On Wednesday 3rd May my artwork commissioned for Great British Racing (GBR) was transported to Pontefract Races to be unveiled and photographed for the press. I was so pleased that my 100+ hours of hard work on this collage paid off with a very positive response by racegoers and staff at Pontefract Races, as well as Charles from London (I mean Charles from Great British Racing, London!)
The artwork was placed on a large easel to be unveiled. Alongside me in the photos below is Richard Hammill, Chief Operating Officer and Clerk of The Course. I was wearing my smart GBR jacket given to me for the occasion!

I was then interviewed in a question and answer session by Charles:

Later, not long after a winning horse walked proudly around the winner’s enclosure, there was another interview where I answered more questions about my artwork in front of the many crowds at Pontefract Races.

First the introduction:

Then being asked how I made the artwork and why it was being unveiled here at Pontefract Races:

I explained that I was very pleased to be back at the races and that Pontefract Racecourse had commissioned me in 2019 to create 4 pieces of artwork for their sustainability campaign. This then led to Great British Racing seeing some of my artwork and making contact to commission this latest piece for the Coronation.
